Model-Ex 2015
At the Windmill School, Raunds, Northants.
The club presented no less than 20 excellent models for this years display
Model-Ex. Ranging from Day-boats to Trawlers , from Torpedo boats to Tugs.
Steve included his large submarine and Brian showed a racing yacht. A varied selection to show the club’s diversity of interest.
Paul was able to demonstrate some amazing warfare sounds from one of his boats and was able to ‘lift the lid’ on his exceptional torpedo boat to show some very intricate workings.
Alan’s Skeleton boat was powered up to demonstrate its twin V8 engine sounds.
A particularly popular attraction with children was a stand-alone steam generator, created by Clive. It provided entertainment for both young and ‘old’ children alike.
Some delicious cakes were provided, once again by Maureen, to the exhibiting members delight.
Overall the show was another success and provided the opportunity to meet and discuss with many different disciplines.
Hopefully our display will have stirred some interest in the youngsters of the school and we have set some seeds for future model boat builders.
Our thanks must go out to the small band of members who helped the host club prepare the school for the exhibition and put it back to normal afterwards and the twelve members who helped out on the stand over the weekend.
I know that some of the pictures look a little cluttered with school equipment, that's just the nature of the beast so to speak, we couldn't hide everything.
Alan Burgess.
The first three slideshows below were taken by Alan Burgess and the four that follow on from them were taken by Nick Brown.
Many thanks to both of them.
