Model Boat Mayhem at Wicksteed 2017

Back in its eleventh year, the mayhem show had a brilliant selection variety of model boats on display both on the club stands and the water. Thank you to the continued support from the model boat traders- Ron of Deans Marine and Carl of Linkspan Models- both had their latest boats on display. Ron had his two Dutch Minesweepers and Carl was finishing off his new Norstar Ferry. The weather was kind to us despite the wind trying its best to disrupt sailing on the Saturday afternoon. As always a big thank you to all the clubs, individuals, and organisers for making the show a success every year. The distance that Mayhemer's travel to get the golden shores of Wicksteed Park model boat lake is staggering, the Scot's Lads travelling from Glasgow, and Steamboat Phil and his apprentice from Dieppe in France!
Once again appreciation to the park's management for its support and providing the campsite and tables to us- we are truly grateful to Mr Bush for endless work keeping me up to date with the park's progression. This year we also had the return of the Tombola Stand after a years lapse to remember Maureen Millers. Thanks to Jan and Nicki who organised and ran the stand with Nigel.
Anyway they say a picture is worth a thousand words, enjoy the many pictures!
