Keith Carey Memorial Shield

Keith Carey was a Wicksteed Park MBC Chairman but unfortunately passed away. We remember him every year by hosting the Keith Carey Memorial Shield and is awarded to the club member whose model boat is voted favourite by the club. The Shield is presented to the lucky recipient by Maureen Carey and her daughter, Kim, at the club's Christmas Dinner.
Sunday 18th September marked the excellent gathering of models which were sailed and presented to the club, a wide selection of different types graced the calm waters including yachts despite the lack of wind- very unusual for the lake! A massive thank you to Roger Kirbyshire for organising this year's competition and I'm sure we are all looking forward to the Christmas Dinner to find out who won.
