HMS Niobe

HMS Niobe was a Diadem class protected cruiser built in 1897 for the Royal Navy. Typical for RN Victorian era cruisers she has four funnels and many of her 6-inch guns were placed in casemates. They were the protectors of the British Empire, the presence of a Royal Navy cruiser was more than enough to quell any problems.

The model is scratch built to 1/96 scale using a modified Dean's Marine HMS Kent GRP hull. A majority of the detail work is created using etched brass, the cowl vents are a particular fantastic achievement being made from one piece of brass sheet.
